(Pinholes)

Ceramics are primarily made from clay. During the bisque firing stage,
if excessive air remains trapped inside the piece,
it may be released during the glaze firing at high temperatures.
This can cause bubbles to form on the glaze surface, which may eventually leave tiny holes known as "pinholes."

流釉(Glaze flow)

流釉(Glaze flow)

Every hand-applied brushstroke of glaze, tempered by fire, may flow or layer across the surface, creating unexpected patterns and hues.
Even when using the same glaze, subtle variations in climate, temperature, and the piece’s position in the kiln can lead to slight differences in color or scorch marks after firing.
These naturally occurring nuances are precisely what make each piece so uniquely captivating.

(Iron Spots)

(Iron Spots)

When clay contains a higher concentration of natural minerals such as iron, small black specks—known as “iron spots”—can form on the surface during firing, depending on temperature changes.
Since these minerals are unevenly distributed within the clay, even pieces of the same shape and style will display unique patterns of iron spots.
This natural variation adds character and charm to the experience of appreciating ceramics.
